This slow start up of your computer is caused by a congestion problem in the Windows operating system registry. The registry is where all your start up files and start up programs receive its commands from. When this registry becomes full of unnecessary garbage and useless information, it slows down your window start up process drastically.

It's sort of like being stuck in traffic. Whenever the road has too many cars all try to go a particular way then of course traffic is going to come to a halt. You have to begin cleaning registry files in order for your computer to speed back up to its normal performance.

So how's this taken care of? What I did personally was to eliminate as many of the starter programs from my registry as possible. You may think that just uninstalling the program will do the trick, but that's not the case. The registry still holds the command to run the uninstalled software even after you delete it manually by using add or remove programs. This is why the registry becomes so congested and why cleaning registry files is necessary. Just deleting the uninstalled programs from the control panel won't take the entries out of operating system registry.

Similar to the way all your Word documents are stored, all information about a computer's user, the computer itself, and anything else that pertains to the way operations will be performed on your computer is stored in the registry. When programs are being run, these programs transfer some of their files to the registry. Without doing so, it would not be possible for the program to run on your computer. So, when this program is no longer being run, those files should be removed from the registry. However, this does not always happen. Sometimes the files a program enters into a registry remain there after the program is no longer in use.

When you manually clean registry files, you run the risk of doing serious damage to your computer. Microsoft tells users not to touch the registry on their computer, and there is a good reason why. It is very easy to make a simple mistake when you are attempting to fix the registry on your own, and one of these mistakes can lead to big trouble.

Why do you want to manually clean the registry? Is it to save money? Well, a mistake could cost you hundreds of dollars, so keep that in mind. The better option is to spend between 20 and 50 dollars for one of the registry cleaners that is available for sale. It takes all the guess work out of registry repair with its scanning ability. And, you can easily program your registry cleaner to do system scans over and over again.
