A wedding is an event that comes significantly in a man’s life. Arguably it’s just the event where hi shines from the rest of the men that is in attendance. But even if you are just merely a plain guest to a wedding, your attendance is significant and you are expected to be properly dressed.

A male wedding guest must be presentable and is dressed according to the stated dress code in the wedding invitation set by the couple. Some couples prefer to have a unique wedding ceremony like being wed underwater or in mid air and the likes. With these kinds of venues you are not required to dress formally.

On the other hand, if the dress code is not written in the wedding invitation, you should analyze things first so you can decide on the right attire.

First, analyze the wedding location. If the invitation says that the wedding will took place in one of the five stars hotel in the city, then you should really be in a tuxedo or a fine suit. But if the venue will be at rural areas, most likely it is the typical and traditional one that requires everyone to be in black tie or in business casual attire. Remember that you cannot just pick the color you want for your suit. Even if you think you are more fashionable in a red or yellow suit, it may not be the appropriate colors for the said occasion. Dark color suits like grey suit or black suit with white shirt underneath and muted tie plus formal shoes is the perfect appearance of a wedding guest.

Second, analyze the wedding time and season. A common wedding happens early morning. But others prefer a nighttime wedding. In either case, you are still required to be in formal attire but you can choose the type of fabric that will make you comfortable if the season is hot or cold. You can shop at some suit warehouse yourself so that you can have the personal touch on the fabric of the suit before buying.

Lastly, phone the couple. This is the best thing you should do so that you will arrive confidently at the wedding because you are perfectly dressed up. Talking to both or either one of the couple about the dress code is somewhat flattering on their side because you are really making an effort to witness their celebration of love.

A guest is an important person especially in a wedding. You have been invited because most probably you are considered as an important person in the lives of the couple. Being a responsible guest and a worthy attendee you can best do your part by arriving at the wedding venue appropriately dressed and right just on time.
