It is a fact that dogs are among the best pets in the world. They are man's best friend. Despite this, there are still some of us who are having trouble with our dogs because of the bad breathe they are having. Allow me to discuss some of the contributing factors for your dogs bad breath and how to help eliminate them.

1. Dental Decay is the most prevailing cause of bad breath among dogs. According to statistic, more than eighty percent of dogs that are three years of age have oral problems.

2. Dogs are known to eat or chew everything that looks mouth watering to them. This sometimes is also the cause of bad breath on your dog. Look inside your dogs mouth to see if there are any foreign objects tangles in between his teeth. Some of the common foreign objects that may get stuck in your dogs mouth are hair, twigs, sticks, and bones.

3. Internal problems may also be the cause of your dog pets bad breath. Kidney disease is one of the most frequent problems that cause bad breath on dogs. Aside from having kidney problems, another cause is the dog having gastro-intestinal problems. Your dog might be having some problem down in his tummy.

Below are some of the things to consider combating such problems:

1. One of the best ways to keep your dogs breath smelling good is for you to brush his or her mouth. This will help remove things or foods that are stuck in between his or her teeth. This helps prevent the development of bad odor. Brushing will also help remove bacteria from your dogs mouth. Though brushing may seem unpleasant for your dog, just be patient and careful in doing so. If the dog gets too much irritated, he might bite you.

2. Try peppermint oil application. This can help eliminate the bad odor that is coming from your dogs mouth. These products are still one of the best ways to help eliminate the bad odor from their mouth though these may be uncomfortable for your dog.

3. Taking your pet to an animal doctor for a comprehensive checkup is heavily advised for every pet owner.

A properly maintained oral hygiene for our pet will greatly help them and us to stay healthy and close to each other. Thus, make sure you regularly check your pet's oral care.
